The weekly 1.5-hour class is centered around creative and critical writing, developing the literary skills necessary for excellence in communication. In this grade, the curriculum is no longer spiral, rather developmental with one topic thoroughly explored and consolidated before moving onto the next. The topics include Shakespeare, speeches, and article analysis. With a focus on understanding the nuances of grammar and different writing styles, our grade 6 students gain the ability to craft pieces of writing and presentations for a multitude of contexts. In addition, cursive writing, drills, sentence analysis, and novel studies continue to be key components. All grade 6 students have tests and write final examinations.
